Substrate Requirements
- Concrete or screed with fall to drains (rubber doesn't affect drainage)
- Clean, smooth surface free from contaminants
- Fully cured and dried before installation
Installation Method
- Apply wet-area suitable rubber flooring adhesive
- Roll out rubber and press firmly into adhesive
- Ensure all edges are fully bonded—no lifting points
- Seal edges to walls and drains with silicone sealant
- Allow 48 hours cure before wet use
Cleaning & Hygiene
Daily Cleaning
- Hose or pressure wash to remove surface debris

- Scrub with deck brush if needed

Weekly Deep Clean

Is R11 adequate for swimming pool surrounds?
Yes. R11 is the standard slip rating for wet pedestrian areas including pool surrounds. It provides safe grip for barefoot walking on wet surfaces where water is routinely present.
Will pool chlorine damage the rubber?
No. SBR rubber is resistant to chlorinated pool water at normal pool concentrations. The material won't degrade, discolour, or lose slip resistance from chlorine exposure.
Does water pool on the surface?
No. Water flows between the raised penny studs and drains according to the underlying floor gradient. The studded pattern prevents pooling that creates slip hazards on flat rubber.
Is it comfortable barefoot?
Yes. The rounded penny studs are specifically comfortable for barefoot walking. There are no sharp edges or aggressive textures. The rubber is warmer underfoot than tiles.
Can body lotions and sun cream affect slip resistance?
Oily products can reduce grip on any surface. The studded pattern helps maintain traction even when contaminated, but regular cleaning is important in pool and spa environments where these products are used.
Will the rubber grow mould?

Can we use this in sauna and steam room areas?
The rubber is suitable for areas outside saunas and steam rooms (changing areas, relaxation zones). For inside saunas, check temperature limits—the +60°C rating is not suitable for direct sauna bench areas.
