    Description

Custom-fit van floor protection. Cuts easily to fit wheel arches and load tie points. Protects metal floor from cargo damage. Non-slip surface prevents load shift during transport.

Van Liner Rubber Flooring | Cargo Protection | Non-Slip Load Area Mat

Your commercial van's load floor takes a beating. Every pallet dropped, every toolbox dragged, every sharp-edged item loaded and unloaded chips away at that metal floor. Once corrosion takes hold, your van's resale value plummets and structural integrity follows. Our van liner rubber flooring provides a protective barrier that shields your investment while keeping cargo secure during transport.

The studded penny pattern isn't just decorative – it's functional. The raised surface grips items from below while providing traction for your feet as you load. In wet weather when you're stepping in and out with muddy boots, the R11 slip rating keeps you safe. And when that load shifts during an emergency brake, the rubber surface prevents sliding that could damage goods or unbalance your vehicle.

    Why Van Floors Need Protection

Commercial van floors face unique challenges that standard flooring solutions don't address:

    • Impact damage – Tools, equipment, and materials dropped during loading dent and crack bare metal
    • Abrasion wear – Pallets, crates, and heavy items dragged across floors scrape protective coatings
    • Moisture ingress – Rain, snow, and wet cargo introduce water that pools and causes rust
    • Chemical exposure – Fuel cans, cleaning products, and trade materials spill and corrode
    • Load security – Smooth metal floors allow cargo to slide during transit
    • Noise transmission – Vibrating loads on bare metal create exhausting cabin noise

    Van Liner Benefits

Rubber van liner flooring transforms your cargo area:

    Problem Rubber Solution
Dented floors Cushioned rubber absorbs impact from dropped items
Scratched surfaces Tough rubber surface takes the wear instead of metal
Rust formation Waterproof barrier prevents moisture reaching metal
Sliding cargo Studded surface grips loads from below
Slippery footing R11 non-slip surface for safe loading
Cabin noise Rubber dampens vibration and load movement sounds

    • Medium vans – Ford Transit Custom, VW Transporter, Mercedes Vito
    • Large vans – Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, VW Crafter, Iveco Daily
    • Panel vans – Renault Master, Citroën Relay, Peugeot Boxer
    • Dropside and flatbed – Custom cutting for open load areas
    • Pickup beds – Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200

    Installation Guide

Van liner rubber is designed for easy DIY fitting:

    1. Remove existing floor covering – Take out old ply lining if present; ensure metal is clean and dry
    2. Treat any rust – Wire brush rust spots; apply rust converter; let dry completely
    3. Measure your load area – Note wheel arch positions, tie-down points, and bulkhead shape
    4. Create a template – Use cardboard to template complex shapes around wheel arches
    5. Cut the rubber – Use a sharp utility knife and straight edge; replace blades frequently
    6. Lay loose or secure – Can be loose-laid (rubber weight holds position) or glued for permanent fit
    7. Seal edges – Silicone sealant around edges prevents moisture ingress behind the liner

    Thickness Selection for Van Use

Choose thickness based on your cargo type:

    • 3mm – Light goods, parcels, small equipment. Good balance of protection and payload retention.
    • 4mm – General trades use, medium equipment, palletised goods. Our most popular van liner thickness.
    • 6mm – Heavy equipment, scaffolding, construction materials. Maximum protection for demanding loads.

Note: Thicker matting adds weight. A typical Transit-size van floor in 6mm rubber adds approximately 30-40kg. For payload-critical operations, 3mm or 4mm may be preferable.

    Trade-Specific Applications

Van liner rubber serves diverse trades:

    • Plumbers and electricians – Protects floor from copper pipe ends, cable drums, and heavy tools
    • Builders and contractors – Withstands scaffold tubes, concrete bags, and power tools
    • Delivery drivers – Grips parcels and packages; prevents sliding during braking
    • Landscapers – Resists soil, wet plants, and fertiliser spills
    • Mobile mechanics – Oil and fuel resistant; cushions dropped components
    • Florists – Waterproof surface handles wet buckets and flower arrangements
    • Event equipment – Protects staging, sound equipment, and display materials

    Maintenance and Cleaning

Van liner rubber requires minimal maintenance:

    • Sweep out loose debris after each use
    • Hose down for thorough cleaning – the rubber is fully waterproof
    • Mild detergent removes stubborn marks
    • Oil and fuel spills wipe clean; no staining of the rubber
    • Can be pressure washed without damage
    • No waxing, sealing, or special treatments needed

Why Choose Rubber Over Plywood Lining?

Traditional plywood van lining has limitations that rubber overcomes:

    Plywood Rubber
Absorbs moisture; swells and rots Waterproof; never rots
Heavy (adds significant weight) Lightweight alternative (especially 3mm)
Splinters create injury risk Smooth safe surface
Hard surface reflects noise Absorbs vibration and noise
Items slide on smooth surface Studded grip prevents sliding
Difficult to clean thoroughly Hose clean in minutes
