What is the difference between SBR, neoprene, and nitrile rubber sheets?
SBR (styrene-butadiene) is a general-purpose rubber, excellent for flooring and vibration dampening. Neoprene offers better weather, ozone, and moderate oil resistance. Nitrile (NBR) is specifically engineered for fuel, oil, and chemical resistance — ideal for engineering and automotive applications.
Can rubber sheets be cut to size?
Yes. All our rubber sheets can be cut to size. Use a sharp Stanley knife and straight edge for clean cuts. For thicker sheets (10mm+), a jigsaw or angle grinder with a cutting disc is recommended.
What tolerances can I expect on cut rubber sheets?
Our pre-cut sheets are accurate to ±3mm. For precision engineering applications requiring tighter tolerances, we recommend ordering slightly oversize and trimming to final dimension.
Are your rubber sheets suitable for outdoor use?
Natural rubber and SBR have moderate weather resistance. Neoprene is suitable for outdoor use and resists UV and ozone. EPDM offers the best outdoor weathering performance of all our sheet materials.
Can I use rubber sheets for vibration dampening under machinery?
Yes. Rubber sheets are widely used as machinery mounts and vibration isolators. Natural rubber offers the highest elasticity for vibration absorption. For heavy machinery, use our solid rubber sheet in appropriate thickness.
