Description

Chemical Resistant Rubber Sheet – Heavy Duty Industrial Grade

Our chemical resistant rubber sheet is engineered for environments where exposure to oils, solvents, acids, and industrial chemicals would rapidly degrade standard rubber. Available in multiple compounds to match specific chemical exposure requirements, this heavy-duty industrial sheeting provides reliable protection for equipment, floors, and work surfaces.

Chemical Resistance: Compound Selection

Different chemicals attack rubber through different mechanisms. Selecting the right compound for your application is critical:

  • Nitrile (NBR): Best for petroleum oils, fuels, hydraulic fluids
  • Neoprene (CR): Good all-round resistance to oils, ozone, weathering
  • EPDM: Excellent for acids, alkalis, ketones, water/steam
  • Viton (FKM): Superior resistance to aggressive chemicals and high temperatures

Industrial Applications

Engineering & Manufacturing

Workbench protection, machinery gaskets, and equipment pads in environments with cutting oils, coolants, and hydraulic fluids. Nitrile compound recommended for most workshop applications.

Chemical Processing

Tank linings, bund protection, and splash zone flooring. EPDM for acid/alkali environments; Viton for aggressive solvents and high-temperature applications.

Automotive & Transport

Workshop flooring, fuel-handling areas, and service bay protection. Nitrile resists petrol, diesel, brake fluid, and transmission oils.

Food & Beverage

Processing area flooring and equipment mounts where cleaning chemicals are used. EPDM offers excellent resistance to most sanitisers and cleaning agents.

Pharmaceutical

Cleanroom flooring and equipment isolation where chemical purity is critical. Consult our technical team for specific compound recommendations.

How to Choose the Right Compound

Consider these factors when selecting chemical resistant rubber:

  1. Primary Chemical Exposure: What chemicals will contact the rubber regularly?
  2. Concentration: Dilute acids vs concentrated – affects compound selection
  3. Temperature: Chemical resistance changes with temperature
  4. Duration: Continuous immersion vs occasional splash
  5. Mechanical Requirements: Abrasion, compression, flexibility needs
